רב נחמן's five cases that need a gift of all one's property, and what a gift of 'my property' includes

Overview

This amud opens by finishing an earlier discussion. רב אשי tells רבינא that a slave is not freed when his master keeps some land, because such a document is not a full גט שחרור that cuts him off from his master. Then רבא quotes רב נחמן, who lists five cases where a special rule applies only if the owner writes away ALL of his property: שכיב מרע, a slave, a wife, sons, and מברחת. The גמרא brings the source for each of the five. It then rules that keeping back movable property counts as keeping something, except in the כתובה case, since a כתובה is collected only from land. אמימר adds that movable items written into the כתובה, if they still exist, do count. A new topic follows: what does a gift of 'my property' include? The גמרא shows that slaves, land, movable items, money and documents are all called 'נכסי', and brings the story of רב פפא's money and רבה בר יצחק's two kinds of שטרות. The amud ends as רב הונא adds a third kind of שטר, and the משנה he points to comes on the next amud.
