The greatness of ירושלים of the future, and how far a ship must be pulled to acquire it

Overview

This amud opens with the last line of an earlier אגדה, where ה׳ says He decreed death on אדם הראשון. The גמרא then brings a series of teachings about ירושלים of the future. Only invited people will go up to it. The צדיקים, משיח, and ירושלים will be called by ה׳'s name, and "קדוש" will be said before the צדיקים. ירושלים will be raised three פרסאות high, and people will fly up to it like clouds and doves. The angels protest a plan to give it a fixed size, so it will spread out without walls, with huge additions each as big as צפורי and buildings many floors high. The גמרא then returns to the משנה and brings a מחלוקת between רב and שמואל on how far a ship must be pulled to acquire it. A first attempt to match their views to a ברייתא about animals fails, and a second attempt with a ברייתא about ships continues on the next amud.
