Overview

The amud continues the question of whether a donkey's vessels are sold with it when they are on the donkey. רבינא tries to prove it from the wagon-and-mules case. The גמרא pushes back using the ship משנה and concludes that the תנא teaches each ruling on its own, so no proof works. אביי then lists six תנאים who all hold that a sale includes an item's accessories, and the גמרא shows the source for each one. רבא explains why, according to רבי יהודה, 'this donkey of yours' includes the vessels but 'is the donkey yours?' does not. A new משנה teaches that a sold donkey comes with its foal but a cow does not come with its calf, and that containers like a cistern or a beehive are sold with what is inside them. רב פפא explains the donkey-cow difference: the seller said 'nursing,' and only a cow's milk has value. The amud closes with רבי יוחנן's lesson on the פסוקים about חשבון.
