Is there an extra punishment for breaking a general לאו? Comparing the מחלוקת of רב הונא and רב יהודה about taking a millstone as collateral with the מחלוקת of אביי and רבא about eating the קרבן פסח not roasted.

Overview

This amud opens with the last words of רב יהודה's view about taking millstones as collateral. He says the general phrase 'כי נפש הוא חובל' teaches about other food-making tools, so it adds no extra לאו for the millstones. The גמרא then asks whether אביי and רבא argue about the same idea. רבא gives an extra set of מלקות for the general command 'only roasted in fire' when someone eats the קרבן פסח raw or cooked. אביי says there are no מלקות for a לאו שבכללות. The גמרא suggests that אביי follows רב יהודה and רבא follows רב הונא. It rejects that match. רבא can agree with רב יהודה, because 'כי אם צלי אש' has no other job and so must be its own לאו. אביי then begins to show that he can agree even with רב הונא, and his reason continues on the next amud.
