ברכות over grain foods and bread crumbs, and which unusual breads need חלה

Overview

This amud finishes a ברייתא in which רבי יהודה reports the argument between רבן גמליאל and the חכמים about the ברכה after grain, the seven species, and rice. Another line in the same תוספתא shows it cannot follow רבן גמליאל, so the גמרא assigns it to the רבנן and corrects its rice line: after rice, there is no ברכה מעין שלש. Next, רבא rules on ריהטא, a flour-and-honey dish. He first splits by recipe, then retracts and says both get בורא מיני מזונות, based on רב and שמואל's rule about the five grains. רב יוסף says bread pieces in a cooked dish get המוציא only if they are a כזית, and he brings a proof from מנחות. אביי challenges the proof, and the answers go back and forth. The final ruling, from רב ששת and רבא, is that even smaller crumbs get המוציא as long as they still look like bread. The amud ends with unusual baked items, טרוקנין and טריתא, and whether they need חלה. A contradiction about bread made for כותח is resolved with רבי יהודה's rule that the way it is made shows its purpose, and that discussion continues on the next amud.
