Liver and blood: cooking liver with other meat, draining its blood, and roasting liver or udder above other meat

Overview

The גמרא finishes an earlier question by saying the other food was forbidden because of the liver's fat. It then asks a new question: does the liver's blood make other meat cooked with it forbidden? רבי זריקא brings a story where rabbis ate a windpipe cooked with the liver, but רב אשי rejects the proof, so the question has no answer from that story. A side point follows: רבא shows that vinegar used to scald liver cannot be forbidden. Next, רב נחמן insists that his guest eat cooked liver, and the גמרא shows that תנאים already argued about liver cooked with other meat. A story at a שבת meal teaches how to cut liver so the blood in its vessels drains out, and the גמרא adds that spleen, which is just fat, needs no cutting. Then come two opposite versions of a rule about roasting liver or udder above other meat, and מרימר gives the final הלכה. The amud ends as a new story about רב אשי at his father-in-law's house begins, and it continues on the next amud.
