Overview

The עמוד first finishes the discussion of a גט tied to sunrise. 'When the sun comes out' starts only in the morning, so it fails if the husband dies at night. 'On condition' works from now. The תנאים argue only about 'if,' depending on רבי יוסי's rule that a document's date shows when it starts. Next, רב אשי explains that רבי יוסי validates the twelve-month case only because the husband said 'write and give if I do not come,' which means 'write now.' A ברייתא then teaches how much time the word 'after' adds to a period. The גמרא explains 'after שבת' and shows that רבי's 'thirty days after the רגל' is not the הלכה. Then פרק מי שאחזו ends, and the new פרק opens with a משנה about throwing a גט into the wife's domain. The גמרא learns this from ״ונתן״, compares it to a גנב, and explains why both sources are needed. Finally it asks how a wife can own a courtyard, and answers that the husband gave up his rights while she was still an ארוסה. A support from רבא begins at the end and continues on the next עמוד.
