How long a daughter is supported from her father's estate: the ארוסה, and questions about a ממאנת, a יבמה's daughter, and a שניה's daughter

Overview

This amud opens with the end of an earlier discussion: a reported ruling is brushed off as old news, because רב הושעיא already explained it in בבל. The גמרא then turns to the line in the כתובה promising support for daughters. רב and לוי word its endpoint differently, and the גמרא narrows their argument to one case: a girl who is betrothed (ארוסה) but not yet grown. That argument matches an older one among תנאים, and the meaning of רב יוסף's wording 'until they become' is left as תיקו. Next, רב חסדא and רב יוסף argue from logic about whether a betrothed orphan gets food from her father's estate. The גמרא records two versions of who said which reason. A memory aid then lists a series of questions about different women. רב ששת proves from a ברייתא that the תנא קמא and רבי יהודה disagree about a girl who refused her marriage (ממאנת). ריש לקיש's question about the daughter of a יבמה ends in תיקו, and רבי אלעזר begins a question about the daughter of a שניה, which continues on the next amud.
