Which items join together (מצטרפין) to reach a minimum amount: parts of offerings, kinds of תרומה, and נבילות and שקצים

Overview

The משנה lists five parts of an עולה (and six of a תודה, counting its bread) that join together to reach a minimum amount. The גמרא first fixes the wording: it should read 'בעולה', in the burnt offering, not 'בעולם', in the world. It then quotes a ברייתא saying the meat and אימורים of an עולה join for a כזית. It asks why שלמים would be left out for פיגול, נותר and טמא, since a משנה says all פיגולים and all נותרים join. The answer rereads the ברייתא: an עולה's meat and אימורים join to make the כזית needed to throw the blood, and liability follows from that. This follows רבי יהושע, and רב פפא explains that the מנחה he mentions is the מנחת נסכים. A new משנה teaches that all kinds of תרומה, along with חלה and ביכורים, join together because the Torah calls them all תרומה. A third משנה says all נבילות join and all שקצים join, and רב's comment on it continues on the next amud.
