Squeezing out a bird חטאת's blood, the stages of מעילה for each קרבן, and מעילה in the ash on the מזבח

Overview

The amud opens by finishing a discussion about the leftover blood of a bird חטאת. A ברייתא about the מנחה seems to show that 'leftover' means something must remain. The גמרא answers that the מנחה is different because of an extra word in the פסוק. אבוה דשמואל then challenges רב הונא from a משנה about squeezing out the blood, and he answers it himself: the משנה speaks about each bird separately (לצדדין). Two teachings of the school of רבי ישמעאל seem to clash, and the גמרא explains that two תנאים reported רבי ישמעאל's view differently. A new משנה then traces the stages of many קרבנות: when מעילה starts, when the item can become פסול, when פיגול, נותר and טמא apply, and when מעילה ends. The גמרא brings a dispute between רב and רבי יוחנן about benefiting from the ash heap on the מזבח after תרומת הדשן. רב says there is no מעילה because the מצוה is done, and רבי יוחנן says there is, because carrying out the ashes still needs בגדי כהונה. Finally, רב answers a challenge from the משנה by reading it as 'until it is fit to go out' to בית הדשן.

But isn't it taught: 'Of its fine flour and of its oil,

עַל כׇּל לְבֹנָתָהּ״ –

together with all its frankincense' –

this excludes a case where its flour was missing,

וְחָסְרָה שַׁמְנָהּ וְחָסְרָה לְבוֹנָתָהּ!

or its oil was missing, or its frankincense was missing!
