Whether waiting for sunset counts as 'missing' a step in the hidden-grave and יולדת cases, and a new משנה on finding buried corpses
Overview
רב המנונא rules that a נזיר and someone bringing a קרבן פסח who walked over a hidden grave (קבר התהום) on the seventh day of their purification stay pure, because טומאת התהום is too weak to undo what they did. רבא challenges him from a משנה that says someone still in חזקת טמא stays impure. רב המנונא concedes about the נזיר, who still has to shave, and רבא concedes about the עושה פסח, who is missing no action. אביי objects that the עושה פסח still has to wait for sunset (הערב שמש). רבא answers that the sun sets by itself, so waiting for it does not count as something missing. The גמרא then shows that אביי later accepted this, using a ברייתא about a woman who miscarried on or before יום מלאת. There, רב כהנא asks why a woman who must wait for sunset counts as complete, and אביי himself answers that the sun sets by itself. A new משנה then begins: one or two corpses found in a new place may be removed with their surrounding earth, but three corpses spaced four to eight אמות apart make the place a שכונת קברות.
