The end of שמואל's rule about which flowing river can purify (only the פרת in תשרי), his father's practice for his daughters' immersion, and the start of a new teaching from רב on the 'כלי גולה' of יחזקאל.
Overview
This amud opens in the middle of a rule from the previous amud about using flowing water for טבילה. Flowing river water is not good for immersion, except the פרת, and only in the days of תשרי. That is when the river clearly comes from its source and is not mixed with rain and snow. Next comes a short story: שמואל's father built מקוואות for his daughters in ניסן, and in תשרי he laid mats in the river so they could immerse there. His practice matches the rule exactly. Then a new teaching begins. רבי אמי, quoting רב, explains the 'כלי גולה' (exile equipment) that יחזקאל was told to prepare. The list starts with a lamp and a bowl and continues on the next amud.
