Girls whose vows no one can cancel, a husband cancelling his wife's conditional vows, and a man's conditional vow about marrying
Overview
This amud finishes the משנה's list of girls whose נדרים stand because neither a father nor a husband can cancel them. רבי יהודה adds a girl who was married off young and came back home widowed or divorced. The גמרא quotes רב, who says the long list follows רבי יהודה, while the חכמים group everything into three types: a בוגרת, a יתומה, and a יתומה בחיי האב. A new משנה teaches that a husband can cancel his wife's vow when it depends on whether she prepares things for him or for the fathers. A ברייתא shows that רבי נתן disagrees, both in that case and in a vow that would forbid her to all Jews if she is intimate with her husband. The חכמים say the husband can cancel both. The amud ends with a story about a man who vowed not to marry before learning הלכה. He was misled into marrying anyway, and the story continues on the next amud.
