Practical life advice and lists of three: from רב, the people of ירושלים, and רבי יוחנן
Overview
This amud first finishes an earlier discussion about שדים, explaining that they are found on the paths near a city. The גמרא then collects practical life advice from רב. He tells רב אסי where to live and about marriage. He tells רב כהנא to keep his word and do honest work, and he warns his son חייא against dangerous habits. A ברייתא adds three small beings one should not provoke, because they will grow strong. רב then teaches his son איבו business sense, which leads to a short discussion about selling dates to brewers, and רב פפא adds a warning against relying on credit. Next come two lists of three tips from the people of ירושלים, quoted by רבי יוחנן and רבי יהושע בן לוי. The amud ends with רבי יוחנן's lists of three who inherit עולם הבא and three whom הקדוש ברוך הוא praises every day. The story of רב ספרא that begins at the end continues on the next amud.

דְּשָׁמְטִי סוּסַיָּא
because the horses run away,
וְאָתוּ דָּבְרִי לְהוּ.
