Topic
Bathroom safety and health advice, the size of a shard for carrying on שבת, and the opening of the פרק on עבודה זרה and טומאת משא.
Overview
This amud opens at the end of a story about כשפים, listing careless habits, like wiping with a shard, that expose a person to harm. רב הונא then urges his son רבה to learn from רב חסדא, whose bathroom advice protects human life. The גמרא brings practical disputes about wiping: a stone versus a shard, settled by reading the ברייתא as smooth vessel rims, and a stone versus grasses, settled by distinguishing moist from dry. It continues with health advice about holding it in, what to do when one cannot go, and walking before a long meal. A new משנה then debates how big a pottery shard must be to make one liable for carrying it on שבת. The גמרא shows that רבי מאיר's fire-scooping size is larger than רבי יוסי's and explains how רבי מאיר reads the end of the פסוק. The פרק המוציא יין ends with a הדרן. A new פרק opens with רבי עקיבא's source that an idol makes impure through carrying, like a נדה, and the גמרא begins by quoting a related משנה whose discussion continues on the next amud.

וְלָא שְׁלִיף לְכוּ יַרְקָא

and eat it from the bundle that the gardener tied.
