When several מוספים fall on one day (the trumpets, the songs, and the refutation of רבי אחא), and which day's קרבנות to mention on חול המועד in חוץ לארץ

Overview

The amud opens by finishing a challenge. Besides the change in the song, the fats of the ראש חודש offering were placed in a special spot to show that ראש חודש was set on time, so why have both signs? The גמרא answers that the Temple used two signs so that more people would notice. Next, a ברייתא teaches that when שבת and ראש חודש fall together, the trumpets are blown only once for all the מוספים. This is a full refutation (תיובתא) of רבי אחא. אביי and רב אשי each explain how the verse ״וּבְרָאשֵׁי חׇדְשֵׁיכֶם״ teaches this. A second ברייתא lists the לוים's song for each day of חול המועד and says that when שבת falls on one of those days, the last song, ״ימוטו״, is dropped. This also refutes רבי אחא. רב ספרא and רב פפא give memory aids for the order of the songs. The גמרא then asks what רבי אחא's own sources meant: רבינא says they teach longer blasts, and the רבנן of קיסרי say they teach more trumpeters. Finally, the גמרא asks how communities in חוץ לארץ, who keep two days of יום טוב, mention each day's קרבנות on חול המועד. אביי drops the second day's portion, רבא drops the seventh with a ברייתא supporting him, and אמימר says both doubtful days each day.
