A כהן גדול and women who are not full בתולות, the child's status as a חלל, and when a כהן becomes טמא for his sister
Overview
The amud opens with the end of רב הונא's reading of a ברייתא: a כהן גדול who married the woman he himself raped or seduced must divorce her, and 'he is married' only means he does not pay the קנס. רב אשי challenges this from רב and רבי יוחנן's ruling about a בוגרת and a מוכת עץ, since she would end up that way under him anyway, and the challenge stays a קשיא. Next, the ברייתא says a כהן גדול may not marry another man's אנוסה or מפותה. If he did, רבי אליעזר בן יעקב says the child is a חלל and the חכמים say the child is כשר, and רב rules like רבי אליעזר בן יעקב. One version links his view to רבי אלעזר, but that runs into a difficulty. So רב אשי explains that they argue whether breaking only a positive commandment makes a חלל, and the גמרא shows how each side reads the word ״אֵלֶּה״ in ויקרא 21:14. Finally, a new ברייתא asks when a כהן becomes טמא for his sister: engaged, forced or seduced, a מוכת עץ, or a בוגרת. The גמרא works through how רבי מאיר and רבי יהודה, and then רבי יוסי and רבי שמעון, read ״וְלַאֲחוֹתוֹ הַבְּתוּלָה״. It begins to question the second reading, and that question continues on the next amud.
