Differences between a regular day and יום כיפור in the מקדש: the gold coal pan, the קטורת, the ramp, washing, and the wood piles on the מזבח
Overview
This amud finishes the list of the kinds of gold. רב אשי then says there are really five kinds, each with a regular and a better grade, and a ברייתא confirms that the יום כיפור vessel was red זהב פרוים. Next the גמרא goes through the משנה's list of ways יום כיפור differs from a regular day. On יום כיפור the קטורת is ground extra-fine, and a ברייתא learns this from an extra word in the פסוק. On a regular day the כהנים go up the east side of the כבש because every turn must be to the right. On יום כיפור they walk up the middle, and the כהן גדול washes from a golden flask, both out of honor for the כהן גדול. A ברייתא then brings three views on how many wood piles were on the מזבח: רבי יהודה, רבי יוסי, and רבי מאיר, whose count matches the משנה. The גמרא traces each pile to its source in the פסוקים, and the ברייתא about the leftover limbs and fats continues on the next amud.

all the other shops close.
