Whether "אשר לו" proves the כהן גדול can make a תמורה with his bull. Then the משנה's dispute over one or two curtains before the קודש הקדשים, and the כהן גדול's path through the היכל.
Overview
The amud opens by finishing רבי אלעזר's question: can the כהן גדול make a תמורה with his bull, or is it a partnership offering because the other כהנים are atoned through it? The גמרא tries to prove from "אשר לו" and a ברייתא that the bull must come only from the כהן גדול's own money. It then rejects the proof: the תורה made אהרן's property open to his brothers the כהנים, and that special rule could apply to תמורה too. A new משנה then describes the כהן גדול walking through the היכל to the space between two curtains, while רבי יוסי says there was only one curtain. The גמרא explains that the פסוק of one curtain describes the משכן. The second מקדש had two curtains because of a doubt about the status of the one-אמה space where the אמה טרקסין had stood. A ברייתא then records three views on the כהן גדול's path through the היכל, and רב חסדא identifies the 'יש אומרים' as רבי יוסי. Finally the גמרא explains רבי מאיר's middle path. Either the tables blocked the way along the wall, or walking there was improper out of respect for the שכינה. That second answer continues on the next amud.

As it was taught in a ברייתא:
The steps (17)
- ProofTrying to prove the bull belongs only to the כהן גדול
- ProofThe ברייתא: not from the community and not from the other כהנים
- ProofThe rule is absolute: using another's bull invalidates it
- RejectionPushback: how can the כהנים be atoned without owning a share?
- ResolutionThe forced answer: אהרן's property is special
- RejectionThe same special rule may apply to תמורה, so there is no proof
- StatementThe כהן גדול walks to the space between the two curtains
- Statementרבי יוסי says there was only one curtain
- Challengeרבי יוסי's proof seems strong against the Rabbis
- ResolutionThe פסוק refers to the משכן, but the second מקדש needed two curtains
- StatementThree opinions about the כהן גדול's path through the היכל
- QuestionWho are the 'some say'?
- Responseרב חסדא: It is רבי יוסי, who holds the entrance was in the north
- Responseרבי יהודה holds the entrance was in the south
- ChallengeWhose view does רבי מאיר follow?
- ResolutionThe tables blocked the northern path
- ResolutionThe northern path was not respectful because of the Divine Presence
