Other ways to understand ריש לקיש's teaching, and how he learns both touching and eating קודש while טמא from 'בכל קדש לא תגע'
Overview
On the previous עמוד, עולא said in the name of ריש לקיש that a טמא who puts his hand into the עזרה gets מלקות. A question was raised from the case of the מצורע. Here רבינא answers that ריש לקיש meant only מלקות, not כרת. Then רבין reports in the name of רבי אבהו that ריש לקיש's teaching was really about a טמא who touches קודש. ריש לקיש says such a person gets מלקות, from the פסוק 'בכל קדש לא תגע'. רבי יוחנן says he does not, because that פסוק is about תרומה. The גמרא challenges ריש לקיש: he already uses this פסוק as the אזהרה against a טמא eating קודש. רבי יוחנן learns that אזהרה from a גזירה שוה of 'טומאתו' instead. The גמרא answers that ריש לקיש learns touching from the word 'תגע' and eating from the היקש of קודש to מקדש. A ברייתא then supports ריש לקיש, and its explanation of that היקש continues on the next עמוד.
