Overview

The גמרא goes through a ברייתא about the blood of the inner חטאות. It first explains that seven sprinklings are indispensable in other places too: the פרה אדומה and the מצורע. It then asks why the four placements on the inner מזבח need their own source, ״כן יעשה״. רבי ירמיה says the source is needed only for רבי שמעון, who counts the four corners as two plus two. רבי יהודה learns all four corners from ״באהל מועד״ and uses ״כן יעשה״ for סמיכה and שירי הדם of the פר יום הכפורים. אביי disagrees and says even רבי יהודה needs ״כן יעשה״ for the four placements. Next the גמרא asks what ״לפר״ teaches about the פר יום הכפורים. רב נחמן בר יצחק's answer is knocked down by a ברייתא, and רב פפא says ״לפר״ carries over three laws: ״את״, ״בדם״, and ״בטבילה״.
