Who gets a consecrated ancestral field (שדה אחוזה) at the יובל, and whether the כהנים must pay for it: the sources behind the opinions of רבי יהודה, רבי שמעון, and רבי אליעזר
Overview
This amud first finishes explaining why רבי יהודה and רבי שמעון learn from different sources. רבי יהודה compares the consecrated field to a consecrated house, since both are בדק הבית, so the כהנים pay. רבי שמעון compares it to the שבועות lambs, since both are gifts to the כהנים, so the כהנים get it free. Then the גמרא asks for the source of רבי אליעזר, who says the כהנים neither take the field nor pay. רבה splits the פסוק into two cases, but אביי rejects cutting a verse apart. אביי instead brings a ברייתא on the word 'עוד', but the גמרא shows that this ברייתא fits all opinions: it is about a field a כהן consecrated. Along the way, a second ברייתא and a list of which phrases are needed show that 'לא יגאל', 'לאשר קנהו' and 'עוד' each teach their own rule. Finally רבא gives רבי אליעזר's source: 'בצאתו' means the field goes to the כהנים only when it goes out from another person's hand.
