Who counts toward a זימון (a קטן, people who ate ירק), and how much one must eat to lead ברכת המזון for others
Overview
This amud finishes the long discussion about counting a קטן for a זימון. The גמרא rules like רב נחמן: a קטן who knows to Whom we bless is counted. A story about young אביי and רבא shows what that understanding looks like. Next, רב rules that nine who ate דגן and one who ate ירק join for a זימון of ten. רבי זירא learns that eight or seven also work, but he holds that six is not enough because we need a רובא דמינכר, a clearly noticeable majority. רבי ירמיה disagrees, since six is still a רוב. The גמרא then tells how שמעון בן שטח drank a cup of wine and led ברכת המזון for ינאי המלך. רבי יוחנן says this was not the standard rule: to lead others, one must eat a כזית of דגן. A ברייתא seems to say even one fig is enough. The גמרא answers that a small amount lets a person join the group, but leading it still needs a כזית of דגן. A supporting statement from רבא begins at the end and continues on the next amud.
