The סיינא hat on שבת, and the משניות on what the מקדש allows: hinge pins, bandages and harp strings
Overview
This amud opens by finishing a rule about canopies: a slanted side of a טפח counts as a real אוהל. רב שישא בריה דרב אידי permits wearing a stiff felt hat (סיינא) on שבת. After one rejected answer, the גמרא concludes that a tight hat is allowed, while a loose one is forbidden because it might fall off and be carried. Next comes a series of משניות about things the מקדש allows on שבת that are forbidden elsewhere. First is putting back a door's hinge pin. A ברייתא explains why the upper pin is forbidden, and it adds that doors attached to the ground may never be fixed. The second משנה is about putting a bandage back on a wound. The ברייתא records a מחלוקת between the תנא קמא and רבי יהודה, followed by שמואל's ruling, רב חסדא's limit, and a story about רב אשי putting back a bandage that fell on a pillow. The last משנה allows tying a broken harp string in the מקדש. The גמרא resolves a contradiction from a ברייתא and ends by asking which view רבי יהודה follows; the answer comes on the next amud.
Opening lines
בְּשִׁיפּוּעָהּ טֶפַח,
[when there is not] a handbreadth in its slope,
אֲבָל יֵשׁ בְּשִׁיפּוּעָהּ טֶפַח —
but if its slope does have a handbreadth —
שִׁיפּוּעֵי אֹהָלִים כְּאֹהָלִים דָּמוּ.
the slopes of tents are considered like tents.
