Shared עירוב problems for courtyards and houses that open one into another: forgotten contributors, ביטול רשות, single residents, a גוי, and passageway houses (בית שער).
Overview
The amud opens with a ברייתא about two courtyards, one inside the other, that share one עירוב when one resident forgets to join. רבי עקיבא forbids both courtyards in every case. The חכמים permit the inner courtyard when the עירוב is inside and the one who forgot lives outside. Through a series of questions and answers, the גמרא shows that רבי עקיבא allows ביטול רשות between courtyards and the חכמים do not. It then shows that the argument between שמואל and רבי יוחנן need not match this dispute. Next comes the case of courtyards with single residents. רב יוסף's report is corrected by רב ביבי, and שמואל gives a more lenient rule. רבי אלעזר adds that a גוי counts like many people. Finally, שמואל and רבי יוחנן argue whether a passageway used by one person counts as a בית שער, and רב introduces a case of two courtyards with three houses between them, which continues on the next amud.

and one person forgot,
בֵּין מִן הַחִיצוֹנָה וּבֵין מִן הַפְּנִימִית,
whether from the outer or from the inner courtyard,
