Court sales of orphans' property (pricing errors, the announcement rule, and selling movables), then a new משנה on which women lose their כתובה.

Overview

The amud opens by finishing רב יוסף's point: a buyer at a court sale keeps his guarantee, and it rests on the orphans. Next, רב ששת says that according to רבן שמעון בן גמליאל, a court's sale stands even if the price was off by up to half, and a ברייתא supports this. אמימר quotes רב יוסף: a court that sold without a public announcement (הכרזה) has made a mistake in a clear rule, so the sale is reversed. רב אשי challenges this from a משנה, and the גמרא gives three answers. Some items (slaves, movables, documents) are never announced. Urgent needs (head tax, food, burial) allow selling without an announcement. And some places, like נהרדעא, never announced at all. The גמרא then teaches how orphans' movable property is sold: at the market if market day is near, right away if it is far. Two stories with רב כהנא and רבינא show this. Finally, a new משנה lists women who get no כתובה (ממאנת, שניה, איילונית) and women in forbidden marriages who still do. The גמרא begins with רב and שמואל arguing about a minor divorced with a גט, and שמואל's list of differences between a ממאנת and a divorcée continues on the next amud.
