A daughter's earnings when her brothers support her, who receives her כתובה money, and when the כתובה's lien on the husband's property begins

Overview

This amud opens by finishing an answer from the previous page. It then brings רב's ruling that a בת הניזונת מן האחין keeps her own earnings, learned from a פסוק about slaves. The גמרא works out whether רב or שמואל said it, and rules that the הלכה follows רב. A new משנה teaches that a daughter's כתובה money goes to her father if she was only betrothed, but to her if she was fully married. רבי יהודה gives the first כתובה to the father. From the משנה's wording, the גמרא learns that a woman widowed twice may not remarry, following רבי's view that two times make a חזקה. The גמרא first explains רבי יהודה's reason as the father gaining the rights at אירוסין. After רבא's challenge, it corrects this: the כתובה was written while she was under his authority. Finally, רב הונא and רב אסי disagree about when the כתובה's lien on the husband's property begins. רב הונא's ruling about a woman holding two כתובות is shown not to contradict his view.
