The מורדת: unresolved claims to her belongings, the twelve-month wait for a גט, the אגרת מרד for an ארוסה and a שומרת יבם, and the weekly amounts in the משנה (טרפעיקין and שבת)
Overview
The גמרא first objects to a ruling made against רב זביד. That ruling decided a question that רבא never answered. Since the question has no answer, the rule is simple: if the מורדת already grabbed the item, she keeps it, and if she did not, the court does not give it to her. Next, a מורדת waits twelve months for her גט, and her husband does not feed her during that time. Then שמואל teaches that an אגרת מרד is written for an ארוסה but not for a שומרת יבם. A ברייתא seems to say the opposite. The גמרא tries several ways to settle this: who made the demand, then חליצה versus יבום. It finally says the ברייתא follows the earlier rule that יבום comes first, and שמואל follows the later rule that חליצה comes first. Last, the גמרא explains the coin טרפעיקין in the משנה as half a dinar. It begins to explain why שבת is counted when the wife's כתובה is reduced but not when the husband must add to it. That answer finishes on the next amud.
Opening lines
מִשּׁוּם דְּרַב זְבִיד גַּבְרָא רַבָּה הוּא,
Because Rav Zevid is a great man,
אָפְכִיתוּ לֵיהּ לְדִינָא עִילָּוֵיהּ?
you turned the judgment against him?
הָאָמַר רַב כָּהֲנָא:
But didn't Rav Kahana say:
מִיבַּעְיָא בָּעֵי לַהּ רָבָא, וְלָא פְּשִׁיט?!
Rava raised it as a question and did not resolve it?!
