The end of the לחם הפנים question and the day counts for eating שתי הלחם and לחם הפנים; then the new chapter on redeeming מנחות and נסכים before and after a כלי

Overview

The amud opens by finishing a question about לחם הפנים left on the שולחן into Friday night: shouldn't the שולחן consecrate it and then make it disqualified? רבא answers that the כהן took the loaves off before nightfall. מר זוטרא (or רב אשי) answers that bread arranged the wrong way is like bread arranged by a monkey, so the שולחן never consecrates it. A new משנה then teaches that שתי הלחם are eaten two or three days after baking, and לחם הפנים nine to eleven days after baking. The reason is that baking them does not override שבת or יום טוב, though רבן שמעון בן גמליאל holds that it does override יום טוב. רבינא uses this to prove that, according to the view that forbids them, נדרים ונדבות are unfit on יום טוב by Torah law. The chapter שתי הלחם ends, and a new chapter begins: טמא מנחות and נסכים can be redeemed before a כלי makes them holy, but not after. שמואל says even pure ones can be redeemed before a כלי. The גמרא explains why the משנה still had to state that items made holy in a כלי can't be redeemed, since a בעל מום is called 'טמא'. That discussion continues on the next amud.
