Overview

The amud begins at the end of a ברייתא about the מנחת מאפה, which can be made as loaves (חלות) or wafers (רקיקין). רבי שמעון says the פסוק writes קרבן only once, so loaves and wafers are one offering and may even be mixed half and half. רבי יוסי בר רבי יהודה learns from the repeated word וכל that they are two separate types and may not be mixed. The גמרא then shows how רבי יהודה and רבי שמעון each explain the double בשמן in the פסוק. It also explains how רבי יוסי differs from his father: for the son, a mixed offering is not valid even after the fact. Then פרק כל המנחות ends, and a new פרק opens with a משנה about how much barley was reaped for the עומר on שבת and on a weekday. רבא explains that רבי ישמעאל uses less barley on שבת so there is less total work. רבה compares this to a ruling about skinning the פסח on שבת. The גמרא starts to reject that comparison, and the discussion continues on the next amud.
