The מחלוקת of רבי יוחנן and ריש לקיש about burning the קומץ when the מנחה is missing something, and the source that a קמיצה must be done with the right hand.
Overview
רבי יוחנן and ריש לקיש argue about a מנחה whose שירים went missing before the קומץ was burned. רבי יוחנן says the קומץ is still burned, and ריש לקיש says it is not. First the גמרא clears up a side point in רבי יהושע's ברייתא: the מנחה it mentions is the מנחת נסכים. Then each side reads the פסוק 'מן המנחה' its own way. רבי יוחנן challenges ריש לקיש from the לחם הפנים, ריש לקיש's answer fails, and he goes silent. רב אדא בר אהבה learns from that silence that חסרון is like a מום, but רב יוסף בר שמעיה shows the silence proves nothing. רב מלכיו tries to refute רבי יוחנן from two פסוקים about missing offerings. The גמרא answers that the פסוקים only require refilling and forbid eating the missing שירים, which זעירי and רבי ינאי confirm. Finally, the גמרא learns from the four mentions of 'שמאלית' by the מצורע that a קמיצה must be done with the right hand, and רבי ירמיה starts a new question about the word 'right' in that פרשה.

The steps (28)
- QuestionWhy is a meal offering mentioned in this ברייתא?
- ResponseIt means the meal offering that comes with libations
- ResponseWhy the ברייתא needed to teach this
- Resolutionריש לקיש: a מנחה is different because of a פסוק
- Resolutionרבי יוחנן: whole only at the time of קמיצה
- Challengeרבי יוחנן challenges ריש לקיש from the shewbread ברייתא
- Resolutionריש לקיש says the ברייתא follows רבי אליעזר
- Rejectionרבי יוחנן: this is an unattributed teaching
- ChallengeWhy say 'broke' if רבי אליעזר allows even total loss?
- QuestionWhy didn't ריש לקיש say communal offerings are different?
- ResponseA missing piece counts like a blemish
- ChallengeThe silence proves nothing, because the omer offering is also communal
- StatementFirst ברייתא: missing any flour or oil disqualifies the meal offering
- StatementSecond ברייתא: 'what is left of the meal offering' rules out missing offerings
- ProofWhy two verses? One for before the handful is taken, one for after
- ChallengeDoes this refute רבי יוחנן on both points?
- ResolutionThe פסוקים teach refilling and a ban on eating, not full disqualification
- QuestionThe known question: may leftovers that went missing be eaten?
- Responseזעירי and רבי ינאי: the missing leftovers may not be eaten
- QuestionWhat is the source that a left-hand קמיצה is invalid?
- Responseרבי זירא: a plain 'כף' always means the right hand
- ChallengeThat word 'left' is needed for its own law
- ResolutionThere is another 'left' in the פרשה
- ChallengeTwo limitations in a row should widen the law
- ResolutionA third 'left': only here is it the left hand
- ChallengeMaybe the opposite: the left hand everywhere
- ResolutionFour times 'left': two for the poor, two for the rich
- ChallengeWhy does the פסוק say 'right' for the rich מצורע's oil?
