רבא's unresolved question about שהייה for a נזיר in a cemetery, and רב אשי's question whether one who vowed נזירות in a בית הקברות must shave.
Overview
This amud first finishes רבא's question. The case is a person carried into a בית הקברות inside a closed wooden container who vowed נזירות, and then someone opened the lid. Does the rule of שהייה, known from the מקדש, also apply to a נזיר in a cemetery? The question ends in תיקו. Then רב אשי asks a new question: if someone vowed נזירות while already in a cemetery, must he shave (תגלחת) when he becomes pure? The גמרא tries three sources: the משנה about one who vowed in a cemetery, a ברייתא listing the only difference between a טמא שנזר and a טהור שנטמא, and a ברייתא about a נזיר who became a מצורע. Each proof is turned aside by reading the source differently. In the last source, the words 'his hair is fit for shaving' are read as referring to the final תגלחת טהרה, not a תגלחת טומאה. The גמרא then starts to show why that reading makes more sense, and the argument continues on the next amud.

- QuestionDoes someone who vowed while impure need to shave?
- ProofTrying to prove from the משנה that he must shave

- Resolution'His seventh day' includes everything that follows from it
- ProofNew ברייתא: do days of confirmed צרעת count toward נזירות?
- RejectionThe ברייתא rejects its own comparison
- ResolutionThe ברייתא proves its point by comparing to a נזיר in a cemetery
- ProofTrying to prove that a נזיר in a cemetery must do a shaving of impurity
- RejectionNo, it means the shaving of purity
- ProofShowing that the shaving of purity is the better reading
