Animals and money a woman set aside for her נזירות offerings after her husband cancels her נדר, and whether a husband owes his wife her offerings
Overview
The amud opens with the last line of the previous אגדה: לוט's older daughter was rewarded when her descendants, through רות, reached kingship four generations before her sister's. Then a new משנה begins. A woman vowed to be a נזירה and set aside animals for her offerings, but her husband then cancelled (הפרה) her נדר. If the animal belonged to him, it goes back to the flock as an ordinary animal. If it was hers, the חטאת is left to die, the עולה is offered as an עולה, and the שלמים is offered as שלמים, eaten for one day and without bread. Money she had not assigned goes to voluntary offerings. Assigned money follows its offering: the חטאת money is destroyed, while the עולה and שלמים money buys those offerings. The גמרא then asks which תנא holds that a husband does not owe his wife her offerings. רב חסדא says the רבנן, because רבי יהודה makes the husband responsible through the כתובה. רבא answers that even רבי יהודה only obligates him for what she needs, and in a second version רב חסדא himself says the משנה is רבי יהודה.
