Using a father's or one's own set-aside חטאת funds for a different sin, and when a husband can no longer cancel his wife's נזירות
Overview
The amud opens by finishing a ברייתא about a חטאת. The word ״קרבנו״ teaches that a son cannot use money his father set aside for a חטאת. ״קרבנו על חטאתו״ teaches that even a person's own offering must be for the specific sin it was set aside for. The ברייתא explains that an animal set aside for חלב cannot be brought for דם, since such an animal brings no מעילה and no כפרה. It then considers that money might be switchable, because switched money does bring מעילה and כפרה, but ״על חטאתו״ rules that out too. רבא tries to use the ברייתא's word ״בהמה״ against רב נחמן's view that a blemished animal is like unallocated money. The גמרא answers that the ברייתא means an unblemished animal, and that a blemished animal is only good for its value, which is just money. A new משנה then teaches when a husband can no longer cancel his wife's נזירות: after זריקת הדם, or after שחיטה according to רבי עקיבא. The משנה adds the distinction between תגלחת הטהרה and תגלחת הטומאה and brings רבי מאיר's dissent. The גמרא begins by noting that the משנה does not follow רבי אליעזר, who holds that shaving is required.
