Delayed or time-limited הקמה and הפרה of a wife's vow, and how the father and husband share the power over a betrothed נערה's vows
Overview
The amud opens with a ladder of 'אם תמצא לומר' questions about a husband who delays his הפרה. What if he says 'it is cancelled for you tomorrow'? What if he says 'it is upheld for you for an hour'? And what if he clearly says 'it is cancelled after an hour'? The whole day stays open for both הקמה and הפרה, so does that last one work? The גמרא tries to prove the answer from a משנה about a husband who answers his wife's נזירות vow with 'ואני'. It then rejects the proof, because 'ואני' counts as upholding the vow forever, so these questions stay unresolved. Next comes a new משנה about a betrothed נערה. If her father dies, the husband does not take over the father's share, but if the husband dies, the father does take over his share. On the other hand, a husband who has fully married her can cancel her vows even when she is a בוגרת, which a father cannot. The גמרא learns the first rule from the פסוק 'בנעריה בית אביה'. רבה then begins to find a source for the father taking over, using the doubled wording 'היו תהיה', and his explanation continues on the next amud.
Opening lines
אִם תִּמְצָא לוֹמַר הָא לָא אֲמַר לַהּ,
If you conclude that [it stays in force because] he did not say it to her,
אֲמַר לַהּ ״מוּפָר לִיכִי לְמָחָר״, מַהוּ?
if he said to her: 'It is cancelled for you tomorrow,' what is the law?
מִי אָמְרִינַן: לִמְחַר לָא מָצֵי מֵיפַר,
Do we say: tomorrow he cannot cancel,
דְּהָא קַיְּימֵיהּ לְנִדְרַיהּ הַיּוֹם,
because he has upheld her vow today?
