Moving פסח meat out of its place, the boundaries of inside and outside, and the holiness of gateways and roofs
Overview
The גמרא first learns from the word ״חוּצָה״ that it is forbidden to move קרבן פסח meat from one חבורה to another. רבי אמי rules that a person is liable only once he puts the meat down, because the Torah's word הוצאה matches carrying on שבת, which needs both עקירה and הנחה. רבי אבא בר ממל challenges this from the burned inner offerings. He then answers himself: those offerings were being dragged on the ground, so they count as already placed. A new משנה teaches how to cut off the part of a פסח limb that went outside without breaking a bone. It also defines the boundary: the doorway divides inside from outside, and windows and the thickness of the wall count as inside. The גמרא notes that רב applies the doorway rule to prayer, which disagrees with רבי יהושע בן לוי. It then resolves a contradiction in the משנה about the doorway itself: doorways of the עזרה count as inside, and doorways of ירושלים count as outside. Two statements of רבי שמואל בר רב יצחק about מצורעים support this. Finally, רב rules that roofs and upper stories were not sanctified, and the גמרא challenges him from his own saying about the loud הלל on the roofs. That challenge is answered on the next amud.
Opening lines
מֵחֲבוּרָה לַחֲבוּרָה מִנַּיִן?
From group to group — from where do we know it is forbidden?
דְּתַנְיָא: ״לֹא תוֹצִיא מִן הַבַּיִת
As it was taught in a ברייתא: 'You shall not carry out of the house'
מִן הַבָּשָׂר חוּצָה״,
any of the meat to the outside'
אֵין לִי אֶלָּא מִבַּיִת לְבַיִת,
I only know that moving it from house to house is forbidden
