Topic
Which women are included in the סוטה process: finishing בית הלל's reasoning about the כתובה, and רב נחמן's rule that the argument about women who cannot have children does not include an אילונית
Overview
This amud opens by finishing the explanation of בית הלל: a payment that is only 'about to be collected' is not treated as already collected. So a woman who cannot prove her innocence does not get her כתובה. The גמרא then goes back to the משנה's list of women who neither drink nor collect their כתובה. רב נחמן, quoting רבה בר אבוה, says the argument between the תנא קמא and רבי אלעזר is only about an עקרה and a זקינה. For an אילונית, everyone agrees she neither drinks nor collects, because the פסוק 'and she shall conceive seed' speaks of a woman who is naturally able to have children. The גמרא then starts a challenge from a ברייתא about a man who warns his ארוסה or his שומרת יבם. The part of the ברייתא that clashes with רב נחמן comes on the next amud.
