The end of פרק הישן (sins that cause wealth to be lost, and the praise of the humble), then the opening משנה of פרק לולב הגזול and the גמרא's question about a stolen לולב after the first day.
Overview
This amud finishes פרק הישן and opens a new chapter. First, the גמרא ends a list of sins that make people lose their property to the government, such as failing to protest wrongdoing and breaking public צדקה pledges. רב then gives his own list of four sins: delaying a worker's pay, withholding it, pushing communal burdens onto others, and גסות הרוח. He says arrogance is as bad as all the others together, and he closes with a פסוק promising the humble the land and peace. After the הדרן, פרק לולב הגזול begins with a משנה that sorts each kind of לולב into פסול or כשר. A stolen, dry, אשירה, or עיר הנדחת לולב is פסול, and so is one whose top or leaves were cut off. A לולב with spread leaves, one from the palms of הר הברזל, and one three טפחים long are כשר. The גמרא then asks why a stolen לולב is פסול after the first day, since ״לָכֶם״ seems to apply only to day one. It begins an answer from רבי יוחנן in the name of רבי שמעון בן יוחי, which continues on the next amud.
