Tamid 33b — the final משנה of the מסכת: bowing, ברכת כהנים, the כהן גדול's service, and the daily song of the לוים
Overview
This amud is entirely משנה, and it finishes מסכת תמיד. First the כהן גדול goes into the היכל to bow, with three כהנים holding him, and the other כהנים go in after him. Then the כהנים stand on the steps of the אולם and give ברכת כהנים. The משנה lists three ways the blessing in the מקדש was different from the blessing outside it: it was said as one blessing, ה׳'s Name was said as written, and the hands were raised above the head. There is a מחלוקת about whether the כהן גדול raises his hands above the ציץ. Next the משנה describes the כהן גדול offering the limbs himself, walking around the מזבח, and pouring the wine while trumpets, cymbals and the song of the לוים mark the moment. It closes the order of the תמיד with a prayer for the rebuilding of the בית המקדש. It then lists the song the לוים sang on each day of the week, and ends with the הדרן for the פרק and the מסכת.
