Offering outside the עזרה (העלאה בחוץ), and when an עולה's meat and אימורים combine to a כזית
Overview
The משנה teaches that a person is liable for offering קדשים outside the Temple courtyard. This is true both for fit offerings and for offerings that became unfit inside the holy area. It also teaches that a כזית made of עולה meat together with its אימורים adds up to make him liable. A ברייתא learns these rules from the פסוק in ויקרא 17 in three layers. עולה teaches the burnt offering, זבח adds the אימורים of all other offerings, and פתח אהל מועד adds the קומץ, קטורת, מנחות and נסכים. The words לא יביאנו לעשות then add פסולין that the altar would accept. Next the גמרא reads the משנה closely: only an עולה's meat and אימורים combine, not those of שלמים. A ברייתא says the same and adds that they combine for פיגול, נותר and טמא. The גמרא challenges this from a משנה that says all פיגול and all נותר combine. It answers that the ברייתא is about the thought that makes פיגול, and about a case where only a כזית was left before the blood was sprinkled. It says this ברייתא follows רבי יהושע and begins quoting his ruling, which continues on the next amud.
