The end of פרק כל הזבחים on when carrying the blood counts as a real עבודה, and the start of the next פרק on people who disqualify a קרבן by collecting its blood, beginning with the source for a זר.

Overview

The amud opens with the end of רב ירמיה מדיפתי's reasoning: the blood still has to be brought to the מזבח again. רבי ירמיה tells רב אשי that this idea depends on a מחלוקת between רבי אליעזר and the רבנן about 'needed' carrying of the blood. רבא explains that everyone agrees carrying toward the מזבח is needed and carrying away from it is not. The two sides argue only about bringing the blood back in a second time. אביי challenges this from a ברייתא in רבי אליעזר's name, and רבא accepts it ('אי תניא, תניא'). The first פרק then ends with a הדרן. The second פרק opens with a משנה listing people whose collecting of the blood disqualifies a קרבן, such as a זר, a טמא, or one who collects with the left hand, where רבי שמעון disagrees. The גמרא looks for the source that a זר disqualifies. It reads a פסוק in a new way, then starts a קל וחומר from a בעל מום that continues on the next amud.
