Whether parts of an offering like the fetus and placenta become פיגול along with the offering; רבי עקיבא on blemished animals and a female עולה; the start of a new משנה on wrong plans during שחיטה
Overview
The גמרא keeps testing רבי אלעזר's view that the flesh of an offering can be pulled into פיגול. First it rejects a proof from a משנה in מעילה about burned bulls and goats, saying its mention of לינה may mean only the אימורים. Then רבה challenges the view from a ברייתא that lists parts like the fetus and placenta as things that do not become פיגול. The גמרא answers that the ברייתא only means a wrong intention about those parts themselves does nothing. רבא then proves from our משנה that the fetus and placenta do become פיגול along with the offering. Next the גמרא turns to רבי עקיבא, who lets blemished animals stay on the מזבח. רבי יוחנן limits this to small eye blemishes that came after consecration, and רבי חייא בר אבא adds that a female עולה must come down. רבי זירא challenges this from the same ברייתא, and the גמרא answers by reading it as talking about אימורים. Finally a new משנה begins: a plan to leave the blood or אימורים overnight or take them out, and a list of plans to put the blood in the wrong place on the מזבח, which continues on the next amud.

But if he had an intention regarding the sacrificial portions –
נִתְפַּגְּלוּ אֵימוּרִין עַצְמָן.
the sacrificial portions themselves become piggul.
תָּא שְׁמַע:
Come and hear:
פָּרִים הַנִּשְׂרָפִים וּשְׂעִירִים הַנִּשְׂרָפִים –
Bulls that are burned and goats that are burned –
The steps (25)
- RejectionWrong intention about the portions affects only the portions
- ProofA משנה about burned bulls and goats

- RejectionNo, it means the portions left overnight
- ChallengeThe end of the משנה talks about flesh
- ResolutionEach part of the משנה can be about something different
- Challengeרבה quotes a list of animal parts that never become פיגול
- Challengeרבה reads the list as never פיגול, even because of the offering
- ResolutionNo, they just cannot become פיגול through an intention about themselves
- ChallengeThen why does the end of the list repeat itself?
- ResolutionYour logic would make another line extra too
- ResolutionThe repeated line comes along with the rule about offering outside
- Proofרבא quotes the first part of our משנה
- ProofThe משנה leaves out fetus and placenta, so one is liable for them
- ConclusionConclusion: Through the offering yes, through themselves no
