Why one תנא can use ״וְדַם זְבָחֶיךָ יִשָּׁפֵךְ״ to teach that one placement of blood is enough, while other teachings that seem to need the same פסוק come from other sources or other views.

Overview

Just before this, a תנא learned from ״וְדַם זְבָחֶיךָ יִשָּׁפֵךְ״ (דברים 12:27) that one placement of blood is enough. The גמרא challenges this three times, each time saying the פסוק is needed for something else. First, the rule that leftover blood goes on the יסוד: this תנא learns that from רבי's reading of the extra word ״בַּדָּם״. Second, the rule that pouring works for blood meant to be thrown: this תנא holds like רבי עקיבא, who keeps throwing and pouring separate, as shown from the משנה about the ברכות on the פסח and the זבח. Third, רבי ישמעאל's rule that מעשר and פסח need blood and fats on the מזבח: this תנא holds like רבי יוסי הגלילי, who learns that from the plural words ״דָּמָם״ and ״חֶלְבָּם״. The גמרא then asks how רבי ישמעאל can use one פסוק twice, and answers that two תנאים report his view differently. Finally it asks how רבי יוסי הגלילי explains ״וּבְשָׂרָם יִהְיֶה לָּךְ״, since the owners eat מעשר and פסח. The answer is that the plural means an unblemished בכור and a blemished one.
