Offering blood on the day of slaughter, the night before the third day of a שלמים, and the rules of בכור, מעשר and פסח
Overview
The amud opens at the end of a proof from the פסוק 'ביום הקריבו את זבחו' that the blood of a קרבן may only be offered on the day the animal was slaughtered. Two objections are answered the same way: whichever word you give another job, the other word is extra and teaches the rule. Then חזקיה and רבי יוחנן argue about the night before the third day of a שלמים. They disagree whether planning to eat it then makes it פיגול, and whether someone who eats it then is חייב כרת. A ברייתא is brought in support of רבי יוחנן. Another ברייתא uses פסוקים to teach that a two-day שלמים is eaten only until sunset of the second day, and that its leftovers are burned only by day on the third day. A new משנה then teaches that בכור, מעשר and פסח are slaughtered anywhere in the עזרה, need one blood placement that reaches the יסוד, and differ in how they are eaten. The גמרא says the משנה follows רבי יוסי הגלילי. It also learns the יסוד rule from a גזירה שוה with the עולה.

לְגוּפֵיהּ!
[It is needed] for itself!
אִם כֵּן, נֵימָא קְרָא:
If so, let the verse say:
״בְּיוֹם זִבְחוֹ יֵאָכֵל״;
'On the day of his slaughtering it shall be eaten.'
״הַקְרִיבוֹ״ לְמָה לִי?
Why do I need 'his offering'?
