Overview

The גמרא first rejects one reading of the משנה, because it would leave no room for רבי יהושע's claim of בל תוסיף. רבא then explains that there is no argument when the blood is truly mixed together (בלול). The argument is only about mixed-up cups (כוסות), and it depends on the idea of רואין. A ברייתא of רבי יהודה seems to say they argue about בלול too. The גמרא answers that this is רבי יהודה's own version, while the רבנן of our משנה limit the argument to cups. Next, אביי and ריש לקיש say that if leftover חטאת blood (שירים) was mixed with עולה blood, everyone agrees, because both go to the same place. רב יוסף and רבי יוחנן disagree, since שירים need the ledge of the base. A ברייתא about בכור blood is brought against them, but it is read as only about the main blood. The amud ends as רבא begins a new challenge from the פסוק about the עולה's blood, which continues on the next amud.
