Closing the עירוב debate; תפילה wording when שבת meets יום טוב, ראש חודש, or חול המועד; preparing on one day of יום טוב for the next; and עירובי תבשילין
Overview
The amud opens by finishing an earlier debate. The גמרא pushes away a proof and rules like רבי, in the strict direction: no עירוב on יום טוב for the שבת that follows. Next, a ברייתא teaches how to pray when יום טוב falls on שבת. רבינא fixes the closing line to 'מְקַדֵּשׁ הַשַּׁבָּת, יִשְׂרָאֵל וְהַזְּמַנִּים', and רב יוסף rules that way. A second ברייתא covers שבת on ראש חודש or חול המועד: יעלה ויבוא goes into רצה, and only מוסף is built around שבת. רב הונא rejects the pair who wanted that pattern in every תפילה. רב and רבא then allow setting an עירוב on the first day of a two-day יום טוב for the second, using a stipulation, but רבא limits this to עירובי תבשילין. A ברייתא forbids baking from one day of יום טוב to the next, and רבא rules like רבי שמעון בן אלעזר that you may fill the whole oven. Finally, the גמרא proves that without עירובי תבשילין both the person and his flour are forbidden. It then asks what happens if he baked anyway, an answer that continues on the next amud.
