Raising sheep makes a person rich, and רבי יוחנן warns that lukewarm water is harmful, a warning the גמרא narrows step by step. רבי יוחנן then lists three sure ways to waste an inheritance, and רב עוירא learns from a פסוק how to spend on food, clothing and family. Next, רב עינא teaches that someone who slaughters for a sick person on שבת must cover the blood. רבה rejects this using רבי יוסי's ברייתא about a כוי, which rests on a קל וחומר from מילה. The קל וחומר is attacked twice, by the case of שופר and by רבי אלעזר הקפר. Still, its starting assumption shows that covering the blood does not override שבת, even after a permitted slaughter. Finally, the גמרא returns to the שופר answer and asks what kind of doubt it means, and the discussion continues on the next amud.
