Topic
Conditions and limitations in a גט: forbidden-act conditions, conditions against the תורה, re-giving a limited גט, and spoken vs. written limitations before and after the תורף.
Overview
The גמרא finishes explaining how אביי reads the ברייתא of רבי יהודה בן תימא. It then brings a ברייתא that says a condition to do a forbidden act, like eating בשר חזיר, must be fulfilled before the גט works. אביי answers that this ברייתא follows the רבנן. The גמרא then asks whether such a condition should be void anyway, because it goes against the תורה. רבינא answers that it is not void, because the wife can simply refuse and stay married. Next the גמרא asks who taught the משנה's rule that the husband must take the גט back and give it again. חזקיה says it is רבי שמעון בן אלעזר, while רבי יוחנן says it can follow רבי too. Then רב ספרא and רבא argue about whether a limitation that is only spoken, before the תורף is written, ruins the גט. Finally, a ברייתא brings an argument between רבי and חכמים about written conditions, and רבי זירא begins to explain it. His explanation continues on the next amud.
