The מגדף's קרבן and כרת; which miscarriages require a יולדת's קרבן; and the night of the eighty-first day

Overview

The amud opens by explaining רבי עקיבא's view that a מגדף who sinned by mistake brings a קרבן, because his כרת is written in the section about the חטאת. רבי עקיבא challenges the רבנן to explain why that כרת is written. They answer that it teaches כרת for the curser of ה׳, and through the words 'חטאו ישא' also for someone who skips פסח שני. Two ברייתות then show the argument over what a מגדף is: one who curses ה׳'s Name, or one who serves עבודה זרה. A new משנה sorts women after a miscarriage into three groups: those who bring a קרבן that is eaten, those who bring one that is not eaten because of a doubt, and those who bring none. The גמרא finds the source for including a שפחה. It then explains how two women can share a קרבן with a condition, and why רבי יוסי allows this for a מחוסר כפרה but not for a חטאת that comes for a sin. Next it gives the sources for רבי שמעון and the רבנן on a יוצא דופן birth. Finally, a new משנה records בית שמאי and בית הלל arguing about a miscarriage on the night of the eighty-first day.
