רבי יהודה's view on intending to leave the blood until tomorrow, the story of יוסף הבבלי, and a new משנה about steps of the מנחה that do not make it פסולה.

Overview

The גמרא explains the view that רבי אלעזר is arguing against. רבי יהודה holds that intending to leave some of the blood until tomorrow makes the קרבן פסול according to everyone, because of a rabbinic גזירה. רבי אלעזר says that even here רבי אליעזר says פסול and חכמים say כשר. The גמרא then questions whether רבי יהודה really holds 'everyone agrees'. It quotes a moving ברייתא: יוסף הבבלי kept asking רבי אלעזר בן שמוע about this case until he heard that רבי אליעזר says פסול, which 'returned his lost item'. After weighing both readings, the גמרא concludes that רבי יהודה did teach 'everyone agrees it is פסול', and יוסף was happy just to hear that some פסול view exists. A new משנה then lists steps of the מנחה whose absence does not make it פסולה. The גמרא begins explaining 'did not pour' as pouring done by a זר rather than a כהן, and shows that by the same reading, not mixing at all would make the מנחה פסולה.

בְּהָנָךְ פְּלִיגִי,

they disagree in those cases,

לְהַנִּיחַ – דִּבְרֵי הַכֹּל פָּסוּל.

but to leave it – everyone agrees it is unfit.
